Emotional Trigger

“When your sister complains about you to your mom and she’s in the wrong but your mom sides with her anyway because she’s younger than you.”

I had just finished swimming 20 lengths of the pool when the argument broke loose (via text messages no less – age of digital information and technology and what have you). The decision on whether this argument could have ruined a potentially great morning was mine and I chose to carry on with my day as if nothing happened. Regular family protocol dictates that I take every argument seriously and defend myself passionately. Well, I’m not playing by the rules anymore. Petty arguments are just that and there’s no need for me to work myself up over them. Ignore, walk away, don’t get sucked into the drama. Just like I did this morning.

Me, 1; them, none.

Also, such is the beauty of anonymous blogging 😉
